What’s more this superb pagoda garden and beach umbrella is extremely well made. It has 16 flexible, thick white fibreglass ribs. That’s twice as many as most standard brollies, which makes it twice as strong. It also has a stout approx. 38 mm diameter two-piece shaft. This is made of a quality white painted steel tube with a pointed bottom end piece which can be planted into the ground or into a suitable parasol base.

What’s more, assembly of the pagoda garden parasol really is easy. Just slide the lower pole onto the upper pole and lock it in position with the integral lever clamp. To raise the canopy, push the runner up the shaft of the umbrella over the spring-loaded catch. To lower the canopy, press the blue catch release button and allow the runner to slide back down the shaft. When assembled the maximum height of the parasol from top to tip is 263 cm (103″). That’s more like 240 cm (94″) when embedded in the ground. The height of the canopy between the ground and the valance is approx. 177 cm (70″).
